The young housewife Helena decides to make an old wish come true and opens her first venture: a mini market. She hires Paula to take care of the housework and to babysit her daughter Vanessa. When her husband Otávio loses his job as a manager in a large corporation, the personal and work relationships between the three characters undergo an unexpected reversal, at the same time that disturbing occurrences start to threaten Helena's business.

The film was presented at the 64th Festival de Cannes in the Un Certain Regard track.
