Berenice is a dedicated woman, working as a taxi driver in Rio de Janeiro. She's consumed by the profession, and the little free time she has is divided between raising her son Thiago, an teenager discovering her sexuality, and her troubled relationship with her husband Domingos, a crime beat reporter. The signs of the worn-out relationship, ruined by her husband's violent outbursts, have erased her femininity, and led her to a great existential emptiness. The murder of Isabelle, a beautiful transgender woman, on Copacabana Beach, lights up her investigative side and transforms her life.
